One key insight I’ve been meditating on: as Pentecostals, we deeply celebrate the Spirit’s present work, but are we still proclaiming with joy and anticipation that Christ is coming again? Influenced by Dr. Joseph Lear’s Resurrecting Worship, I’ve been stirred to recover a fuller theology of Advent—not only remembering Jesus’ first coming, but waiting eagerly for His return.
As a pente-liturgical pastor, I’m learning to embrace the beauty of liturgical structure while holding fast to the Spirit-empowered mission of our Pentecostal witness. May we not lose sight of the second Advent. Let’s proclaim not only that Christ has come, but that Christ will come again.
