Devotional Tuesday: Prayer for Fear
Daily we find ourselves surrounded by the depths of our fear.
All powerful God, we live in darkness.
Daily, we find ourselves surrounded by the depths of our fear.
We shake. We stumble.
We reach for out for comfort.
Lord, only in your light do we find freedom from our fear. Only in you do we find strength to press on toward you.
Meet us in the dark nights of our souls. Meet us where we are.
Lead us into your light.
You are my shepherd.
You lead me beside still and peaceful waters.
In the darkness, I find comfort in you and my soul is restored.
Though darkness surrounds me, I know you are with me.
In you, we will be raised to glory. Out of the tomb, you overcame darkness and revealed your glorious light.
Praise be to the Christ, the son of God, the true light.
I hope this prayer helps you in the midst of fear.
We all fear daily. War. Finances. Violence. Health…
In the midst of our fear we have an opportunity to turn to God.
The psalmists are well accustomed with this reality.
