Last year, I listened to a podcast from Craig Groeschel where he suggested the best way to improve as a person and leader is to develop small habits that better you as a person. These small habits over time will make lasting changes and impacts. This is not a new or novel idea. I am sure there are now hundreds, if not thousands, of books, podcasts, and teachings covering this topic.
So at the start of 2023, I decided I would pick something to introduce into my life.
My wife, a brilliant counselor and therapist, has jokingly, sometimes seriously, informally diagnosed me with ADHD. I jump from hobby to hobby, interest to interest only to get bored and find something new a month later.
I love the idea of analog activity. A few years ago, I bought a pack of small bullet journals called field notes and a nice leather carrying case. I tried to journal and do write my notes physically. While I do have a strong affection for leather (which has now manifested in my new passion for premium Bibles [I currently have the NIV Side Column Reference Bible Premier Collection from Zondervan and the ESV Heirloom Heritage Edition in Olive Green (You can find a list of the Bibles I have here)].
