Evangelical Christian’s want to make their own choices…
Recently, I was listening to a podcast and reading through a Substack newsletter called Graphs About Religion by Ryan Burge. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a fascinating look at religious trends through the lens of data and statistics. One major trend he’s tracked is the explosive rise of non-denominational churches over the past 50 years.
In the 1970s, only about 2% of Christians in America were non-denominational. Today, it’s 35%. That’s a massive shift. One out of every three Christians in the U.S. now attends a church without denominational ties—and much of that is due to the growth of evangelical non-denominational churches.
